At the Zamoro Sword Factory

Toledo

A view of the city with the Alcazar in the background

The Leonardo Mobility to the World Heritage Site of Toledo in Spain during October 2010 was a great success. Not only did I find the visit extremely informative but it was also very enjoyable with the weather being exceptionally kind. Aswell as our visit to the massive Farcama Craft Fair and our various scheduled meetings, fortunately there was time to visit some of the amazing buildings within the old walled city. Of great note was the Cathedral of course but also San Juan de los Reyes with its amazing cloisters.

It was great to meet up with our fellow particpants from Finland, Ireland, Italy and Spain once more who now seem like old friends!

We also visited the Zamoro sword factory and a Damascene craftsman in the heart of the city. The visit has since inspired me to create a new jewellery range which I call “TOLEDO”. The fused dichroic and opalescent glass is embellished with a “silver” edge and carries the description of “metal / light /alchemy”.
